Hi, I am Gayathri and am passionate about cooking and trying out new recipes. Having lived in 6 countries and travelled extensively, I was fortunate to explore and taste the different cuisines of the world. A business analyst by qualification, apart from my full time job, I am also a linguist and a French language instructor. This blog has been created to compile the recipes of the traditional food that we cooked in our house for generations and also to collate a list of my favourite recipes collected over the years from friends, family and my travels. The art of cooking is hereditary. My mom, grandmother and great grandmother were well versed in the culinary arts. The proverb “A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” was literally followed and they captured everyone’s hearts. I learnt basic cooking from my mom and had a diary that had around 50 to 60 recipes of my mom, which I had carried with me when I got married. Those were the days when there were no emails or social platforms and she used to send me recipes by post. Later on with the advent of emails, she started sending recipes by email and there started my cooking journey…..”A Meal Haven”.
All the recipes posted in my blog are tried and tested in my kitchen. If you have tried any of my recipes, I would love to hear from you. Please do leave a comment in the blog or at gayathri98@gmail.com. You can also find me on pinterest mealhaven and on instagram@meal_haven.
